Perth Busport

Our team were excited to work on Perth’s first completely underground bus station. It is also Australia’s first bus station to function more like an ‘ airport’, with buses departing from different stands for each trip to maximise efficiency. With the majority of the busport below ground, connectivity between above and below ground activities was critical. Our team were responsible for developing the signage and wayfinding strategy that provided iconic identification at portals entires, and integrated with this unique dynamic stand allocation system. The dynamic system has the flexibility to allocate arriving and departing buses to different stands each time, allowing for a greater number of arrivals and departures per hour and thereby reducing the footprint of the new busport.
