Images optimisation – when creating images in Photoshop use the following:

• Do an unsharp mask on the image (this sharpens the image prior to it being softened when exported as a JPEG) – Filter < Sharpen < Unsharp Mask. The setting I use is Amount: 70% Radius: 0.5 Thresshold: 4

• When saving for the website use File < Save for Web & Devises. Then use the JPEG compression and make as maximum compression as possible visually.
